New solar power plant in Briona

The construction phase of the Costanza quarry photovoltaic plant in Briona, near Novara, has finally been completed. The 15 MWp plant—located within a partially decommissioned quarry—was developed and authorized by InfraLab on behalf of a leading international renewable energy company.

The site covers approximately 18 hectares and includes 27,468 panels capable of generating over 21,245 MWh of renewable energy per year—enough to meet the needs of more than 6,500 equivalent households. The project also includes environmental restoration works within the area, such as the planting of hedgerows to support native species and, above all, the redevelopment of the pond located in the eastern part of the site.

The plant is expected to become operational by summer 2024.
